Troubleshooting your HP LaserJet When it Fails to Pick Up Paper. Common Printer Issues One of the frequent problems faced by the HP users is that the Laserjet printer fails to pick up the paper. It might also. Oct 13, 2017 - We've all run into a printing problem at one time or another. Sometimes a document gets stuck in the queue and won't print, or your Mac can't.
There seems to be a bug IN HighnSierra:I detected a similar issue regarding connecting devices to USB while WiFi is on. Att hat stage, Imcan not mount an external drive. Once I shut off WiFi, the external device can be accessed, in my case ext hd. Check it out.
Disconnect the the printer 2. Switch off WiFi 3. Connect printer and check, if it is printing 4. It he printer prints, then turn WiFi on and check out what happens.
On my system with a connected USB device, I can not connect to WiFi, despite the systme indicates my WLAN present. Weir behaviour, that has not being changed Apple, even within the actual beta. Thank you for this info, sadly the problem still exists even with wi-fi off.:-(. HP says that your printer is compatible with High Sierra.
Another owner of the printer posted on the HP forum that it isn't recognized; HP recommended the same first-step. Other models have similar problems. One workaround that worked for some people is changing to a different font than the default. Another tried selecting the Airprint driver and that did the trick.
I have also found that trying an alternative driver fixes some problems. In my experience it was avoiding using the Airprint driver even though it seemed to be the logical choice. Fixing printer problems often requires thinking outside the box and trying things that aren't exactly logical. Point is, High Sierra broke other HP printers besides yours.
I got lots of hits using a Startpage search. I recommend installing a major OS update on a bootable external drive and testing it thoroughly before doing an update on your Mac's internal drive. FYI for future updates.
Here are the tips which might help you to resolve the issue. Ensure that you have installed the compatible driver for your printer. Uninstall and reinstall the printer driver. Power off the printer, computer, and modem. Wait for at least 60 seconds.
Power up the printer, computer and the router. Now, try to print a document using your printer. If you still find an issue, change the network connection.
If you connected the printer and computer to the wireless connection previously, now change it to the wired network connection. In case you have connected the printer and computer to the wired network previously, now change it to the wireless connection.
Now, attempt to print a sample document. If you use a wireless network connection, check whether you have connected the printer and computer to the same wireless network connection. Remove the printer from the list and add it again. Go to Apple menu, select System Preferences and then click Printers and Scanners. If you find your printer in the list, select it and then choose the Remove/Add option. I have tried reinstalling and can get it to work, but after powering off and back on the problem is back again.
Can anyone help? Have you upgraded your Mac OS version of High Sierra?
You can find the suitable software from the manufacturer's site. Normally when this type of error displays, just deleting the software and reinstalling a new one can actually solve it. Since you have already tried it and didn't find it as a permanent solution, I would recommend you to try this one. Try to install the software from the manufacturer's site again, without deleting the previous one. It will overwrite your already installed one and now check if the issue is solved. Also, check if the printer's software is installed properly. Try to reset the printer, as resetting the printer forces the printer to reset stored values in the firmware.
This can help you when the printer is not accepting communication from the Mac. Also, check if any multiple devices existing in the printers list and try to remove or delete it from the list other than one in idle status. If still the error message is displayed then try to remove the print queue from the printer's list and add it back again. Also, try to reset the printing system and check if the error message disappears.
